UPDATE: Suspect’s Identity Released in Oak Hill Robbery

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – We have an update on the robbery in Oak Hill that ended today with no injuries and the one and only suspect in custody.

Police have released the suspect’s identity, but first here’s a recap in case you missed what happened.

The robbery took place at RVCOC, a reuse and repurposing store in Oak Hill in the plaza with Tractor Supply.

Oak Hill Police were dispatched to the scene, along with West Virginia state police, Fayette County PD, and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.

There, they were met with the suspect, Douglas Wilson. Wilson is a white male, who is 5’10” and 165 pounds. Police state he was wearing all-black clothes, a black leather coat and a camo print beanie.

Douglas Wilson told an employee that he had a firearm and he wanted all the money in the register. The employee then stated that Wilson received around $335 and ran out of the building and down the side of the store.

Earlier today, the employee at the store told us the man threatened to have a gun, but said he did not believe he actually had one.

The employee also told us that the suspect was someone having a tough time and that he had come into the store before. The employee said he never felt endangered.

The Oak Hill Police Department has Wilson in custody.

This is still an ongoing investigation, and Oak Hill PD requests that if you have information to call them at 304-465-0596.
