Paint Concord University teal

Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – Concord University turned teal today in a show of solidarity for survivors of sexual assault.

Students and faculty gathered in the state room of the student services building this morning for Paint C-U Teal Day, part of a campaign to raise awareness about sexual violence.

During the meeting, shirts, ribbons, and nail paintings – all teal – were handed out to help spread the message.

Organizers say that sexual violence crosses every boundary of gender, age, background, and identity, and 1 in 5 women and 1 in 16 men experience sexual assault during college.

Participants were encouraged to share photos using the hashtag #paintitteal to keep the conversation going after the event.
