Operation Coal Country yields 59 arrests

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – United States Attorney Moore Capito says 59 people were arrested during Operation Coal Country, a multi-week effort by federal, state, and local law enforcement.

Officers targeted non-compliant sex offenders, people wanted for sex crimes, and violent fugitives.

As part of the operation, a missing child was found after an alleged parent abduction.

In total, law enforcement seized 75 grams of fentanyl, 1.5 kilograms of meth, 33 grams of cocaine, and $6,000.

Additionally, police caught a murder suspect wanted in Florida, and a suspect wanted in Arizona for alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile family member.
