McGraws, WV (WOAY) – One person is dead following an early morning house fire.
According to a press release from the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office, an adult male was killed in a house fire that occurred on Shumate Hollow Road in the McGraws area of Wyoming County.
Upper Laurel Fire Department responded to the scene at around 3:00 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025. They cleared the scene at 9:30 a.m. and turned over the scene to the state fire marshal for investigation.
The victim’s body was sent to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and positive identification.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
