It’s another afternoon of tracking scattered rain showers across our region. Today, the northern counties are seeing light to moderate rainfall, but unfortunately, totals have remained under an inch for most areas. Only a few higher elevation rain gauges have picked up slightly more.
Thursday brings our last chance for rain until next week, with the likelihood of another round of showers increasing. As for tomorrow, we’ll start the day with patchy and dense fog across the area, followed by spotty rain showers in the afternoon. Once the rain clears out, it looks like we’ll have a dry weekend ahead.
Temperatures will climb to the mid-70s tomorrow, warming into the upper 70s by Friday, and reaching the low 80s over the weekend. The return of dry conditions means the ongoing drought will continue with little improvement. Fire weather will also be a concern, with increased risk due to the dry spell.
Looking ahead to next week, another system is expected to bring rain from Monday through Wednesday. While it may help improve conditions slightly, we’ll need consistent, healthy rainfall to make a real impact on the drought situation.
