Officers serving arrest warrant in Kanawha County led on police chase

Handley, WV (WOAY) Authorities serving an arrest warrant resulted in a police chase in Kanawha County.

On Thursday, January 29, members of the United States Marshals Service and the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team served an arrest warrant at a home on Upper Drive in Handley.
The warrant was for Timothy Jones, also known as “Big Hurt.”
Jones was wanted on one count of kidnapping and one count of wanton endangerment involving a firearm, stemming from an incident that occurred in August 2025.
Following his feature on the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office’s “Wanted Wednesday” series, Jones had been actively avoiding law enforcement.
Authorities report that when officers attempted to make contact, Jones fled the scene on a four-wheeler, later crashing the vehicle.
He then ran from officers on foot before being apprehended and taken into custody.
During the operation, deputies also recovered a stolen side-by-side ATV, reported stolen out of Fayette County.
Jones is currently receiving medical treatment and will be arraigned at a later date.
Investigators say additional charges are pending, and the investigation into Jones and the residence is ongoing.
