OCEANA, WV (WOAY) – The Oceana Police Department swore in a new member yesterday.
Cody Stewart has been in the department since June, and comes with experience in the army. He has been handling an increased responsibility with his calls in recent weeks.
“We had an opening,” said Oceana Police Department Sergeant Tyler Dunigan. “Cody Stewart, he tested for us back in November. We had an opening come up in June. Thankfully, he was still interested in it. He has been with us for about a month now. We were just able to finally get him sworn in yesterday.”
Sergeant Dunigan says that Stewart has adjusted well to his new role with the department.
