Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – Oak Hill’s Holiday Lodge is back in business after roughly three years closed.
Nassau Properties, a West Virginia-based company, took over the lodge in 2023 and then closed it to take on a full renovation. The property has now reopened.
“We have essentially renovated everything from the top of the building to the bottom of the building,” said General Manager Paul Witt. “We’re very proud. We’ve got some high end finishes. It’s just a really neat location right now.”
The Lodge is in the middle of a soft open. Witt says 60 rooms are available now, with all 120 rooms, along with the pool, banquet and meeting spaces, expected to open in about a month.
The Lodge is also hiring for nearly every position. Witt says he wants workers who know and love where they’re from.
“We want people that know that can really be area ambassadors that that are proud to be from West Virginia, that know how to sell it,” Witt said.
The New River Gorge National Park draws visitors from around the world, but the area has long struggled with a lack of rooms. Witt says the Lodge is positioned to give guests a home base to explore West Virginia.
“We’re super excited to be centrally located, really geographically dead center in the national park between Hinton and Fayetteville,” Witt said. “Our goal is to be very customer service oriented and to take care of our guests just about on any level and to share the customer service levels that we as West Virginians are known for.”
Witt says anyone curious about the newly renovated Holiday Lodge is welcome to stop in for a look.
