Oak Hill student receives diploma in front of church family

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Oak Hill High School officials were back on the delivery route today delivering diplomas.

Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle celebrated one of its high school senior members getting her diploma this afternoon. After growing up in the church, Olivia Kees couldn’t imagine a better place to accept her diploma.

“They say it takes a village to raise a child and this is my village,” said Kees. “I honestly wasn’t expecting everyone… so it’s great and I’m loving everyone being here.”

Oak Hill High School will be back at it again on Friday. You can find the delivery schedule on its Facebook page.

“The original version of this post discussed delays in delivering diplomas to the graduates.  We sincerely apologize that this story was not presented with the proper focus.  In no way was the delivery timeline meant to overshadow the hard work and dedication of either the graduates or the staff.  Teachers and administrators have put forth tireless efforts to recognize the students’ achievements.  We thank our teachers for their hard work, love, and compassion they have demonstrated while making sure their students feel special during these difficult times.“ -Tyler Barker, News Director
