Oak Hill Middle School Honors Faculty for Women’s History Month

This Women’s History Month, Oak Hill Middle School is honoring the women making history in its own hallways. School counselor Jean English put up a display lining the halls of the school with photos of every women on the faculty along with the colleges they attended, recognizing the work they’ve put in and continue to put in each day to help shape students’ lives.

“I know that we often celebrate all the the different people that have done a lot of accomplishments. But here at the middle school, I feel like these women need to be honored … because what they are doing, they are instilling into our young people,” said English.

Eighth grade student David Bigelow says these women are the ones that have impacted him the most.

“Some of the best teachers I’ve ever had have been … women teachers, and they really have taught me the most honestly,” said Bigelow. “They’re … fantastic at allowing the kids to really understand what they’re trying to teach them”

English says the response from the students has been incredibly positive, and that the display will remain through the end of March to give these women the recognition they deserve.
