Oak Hill High School sees roughly 150 students attend August commencement

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Like other high schools in Fayette County today, Oak Hill High School held their commencement ceremony.

For months students were wondering if a graduation ceremony would even be possible during the pandemic. However, after a three-month hiatus, the commencement was finally able to be put on after careful planning by the school board.

The principal of Oak Hill High School Katie Hayes says that this ceremony was a fantastic way to officially honor their graduates.

“This is something that from the beginning we wanted to be able to do. As you know the City of Oak Hill did a whole lot to honor our graduates. And this is just a culmination of a lot of celebration and done the right way,” Hayes said.

Roughly 150 students and their families attended the ceremony.
