Oak Hill glass company builds aerosol boxes to help protect anesthesiologists

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – In the fight against the coronavirus, a Fayette County glass company is using their resources and skills to help protect healthcare workers during this outbreak.

Fayette Awning and Glass in Oak Hill built two glass aerosol boxes to help protect anesthesiologists during surgery and other medical procedures. Manager Robert Long says the idea came from a friend of his, who is an anesthesiologist.

“It will help in the separation. Its hard to say if the patients inflected with what’s going on now or not, but this basically keeps separation between them because they got their hand obviously up and keep their body separated from the patient,” said Manager Robert Long.

Long says Fayette Awning and Glass is able to build more, if more boxes are needed.
