MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Federal Prison Bureau has confirmed the federal correctional institute in McDowell County is currently on modified operations due to numerous cases of the flu.
Twenty-four active cases have been confirmed in the prison that are being monitored. Due to the number of cases, the prison is operating on modified operations. Prisoners have been staying in their cell as a precaution, and meals are being delivered to their cells. Visitation has also been temporarily suspended at this time.
