Fayette County, WV (WOAY)- The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve will temporarily close Cunard Road for road repairs and drainage improvements.
The closure initially set for Friday, November 1, will now be Monday, November 4.
The closure will affect vehicle, bike, and pedestrian access from the Brooklyn mine trail parking lot down to Cunard River access, Angler’s access, and Brooklyn campground.
All river users should be aware that all river access points at Cunard, Brooklyn, and Angler’s access will be shut down, and the Brooklyn campground will be closed.
Restroom facilities at these sites will also be unavailable.
The Brooklyn and Kaymoor Mine trails will remain open, though visitors are advised to be cautious of increased heavy equipment use in the area.
These closures will remain in effect through March 31, 2025.
