Now that the last rocket’s red glare has faded, the question is “what do we do with the leftover fireworks?”

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY)- As we are coming to a close on the 4th of July weekend, it’s time to think about what you do with your leftover fireworks. There are multiple things you can do with unused fireworks.

You can either dispose of them at home by submerging them in a bucket of water overnight and then wrapping them in a trash bag. Make sure to reach out to your local fire department or landfill to find out where to bring them. You can also bring them back to the store.

With sparklers, you can use the same method to dispose of them, just have to soak them for 30 minutes instead of overnight.

If you wish to store them, place them in a dry, sealed, and cool location. Also, make sure they are near nothing flammable. Make sure the location you chose is out of reach of  children and that they are labeled correctly so others will know.
