Nicholas County, WV (WOAY) – A Nicholas County man has been arrested on charges related to human remains recovered in Fayette County earlier this summer.
According to a media release from Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen, on July 7, 2025, Fayette County deputies responded to a call about a dead body discovered in a ditch off of Route 60 near Gauley Bridge.
The body was transported to the Office of the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy and later identified. After speaking with family and associates of the deceased person, the investigation led detectives to a residence in Nicholas County where the victim was last seen.
