Birch River, WV (WOAY)-A Nicholas County man is behind bars, facing serious charges.
Nicholas County Sheriffs report Travis Leroy Thompson of Birch River is charged with grand larceny and felony destruction of property after allegedly taking a GMC Sierra work truck on Monday, July 28.
The truck, packed with tools, is valued at around $50,000 and belongs to Junior Williams, also of Birch River.
A citizen’s tip led deputies to the Birch River Go-Mart, where they found both the vehicle and Thompson.
Following an investigation, Thompson was taken into custody, arraigned in Nicholas County Magistrate Court, and is now being held at Central Regional Jail as he awaits further court proceedings.
