Birch River, WV (WOAY)- Authorities report a man is in custody following a violent series of events in Nicholas County.
According to a press release from the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, April 28, a male suspect allegedly entered a woman’s property without permission.
The Nicholas County Magistrate Court issued an arrest warrant for the 38-year-old suspect, William Kenneth Frame.
Investigators report that the incident began when Frame reportedly became involved in a verbal altercation with another man outside of a Bays Road residence in Birch River.
During the confrontation, he is accused of discharging a firearm in the man’s direction.
Officials say Frame then unlawfully entered the home, where he confronted the female resident, started another verbal argument, and fired the weapon inside the home.
Frame then reportedly made threats of physical violence toward her and further escalated the situation when he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Authorities took Frame into custody without incident and he is awaiting further court proceedings in Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bail.
He faces charges of first-degree sexual assault and wanton endangerment.
