Richwood, WV (WOAY) A large-scale search effort brought together dozens of first responders and volunteers in Nicholas County after a missing person was reported in Richwood.
The Richwood Fire Department says crews were called out around 5:30 p.m. on June 18.
When firefighters arrived, Richwood Police had already searched with K-9 units and requested drone assistance.
Search teams quickly expanded operations, bringing in thermal drones, additional K-9 teams, and multiple agencies to search through the night before pausing around 2:40 the next morning.
Crews returned at daybreak and continued searching throughout the day before ending operations that afternoon.
Officials say nearly 100 volunteers joined the effort and thanked everyone who assisted, including local businesses and residents who donated food and refreshments for search crews.
Another search effort is scheduled for Saturday, June 27.
Authorities are welcoming anyone interested in helping out with the search to meet at the richwood fire department at 8:00 am for a briefing and assignments.
