New York-based company donates shoes to United Way

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – This morning, a New York-based company made a sizable donation to United Way of Southern West Virginia.

The donation came from GREATS, who sent 4,000 pairs of shoes to be distributed throughout the community. Why is a New York company interested in West Virginia? It’s communications director Mark Holcomb is a Raleigh County native.

“You can leave southern West Virginia, but it is where your heart truly remains,” says United Way’s Megan Legursky. “We love to help the community and I love that this is happening right on the cusp of Giving Tuesday.”

Legursky asks that if you’re interested in donating to United Way, do so on Giving Tuesday, May 5.
