New Week; Same Calm

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Morning temperatures remain chilly, dipping into the low 30s for some communities. Frost is possible, especially in the Greenbrier Valley. Isolated fog is also developing, which may cause some visibility issues. If you run into dense fog, use your low beams and drive carefully. Skies remain sunny, which will result in fog dissipating mid-morning. The sunshine will also warm us up, but your warmer layers should stay until this afternoon.

Highs will reach the mid-60s, which is a bit higher than last week. It will be a comfortable afternoon and evening, allowing us to enjoy the nice weather before the sun sets. After sunset, temperatures will steadily fall. Morning lows will return to the upper 30s and lower 40s tomorrow. High pressure is lingering in our area, which allows skies to stay mostly clear. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the latest:

High pressure continues to influence the area for most of the week, which will result in continued dry weather for our area. A front will make its way through the northeast mid-week, but there will be little to no moisture to work with. If any showers do form, they will be well north of our location due to the positioning of the front. Skies will become partly cloudy on Wednesday before returning to mostly sunny on Thursday. Other than fluctuating cloud cover, it will be an uneventful week.

The weekend will be a mixed bag. Halloween will be another calm day as high pressure lingers for a bit longer. The high-pressure system will slink away during the day, but trick-or-treaters are positioned to stay dry. The next disturbance for our area is trending to pass through on Sunday, which is best case scenario for parents and children alike. We are keeping an eye on this disturbance, but are hopeful it will not impact Halloween plans. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
