New River Health hoping to add other wellness amenities to new medical mall

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Around this time last year, New River Health announced the purchase of the old Kmart building in the Oak Hill shopping plaza.

New River Health plans to put a medical mall in, but because of the 95,000-square-foot space they have to work with, they are now talking with others in the health and wellness industry about renting space.

“We’re working with someone who is interested in putting a child daycare center in there. We’re talking with someone who is interested in putting a CrossFit gym in there, so it’s anything that would improve someone’s health and well-being that would kind of build on going to see your family physician or family dentist,” New River Health CEO John Schultz said.

The mall is currently in the design phase but they expect renovation to begin in the summer and expect that process to take a year.
