New River Gorge National Park and Preserve announces upcoming November closures for winter roadwork projects

West Virginia (WOAY) Two roads in the New River Gorge area will close this November for winter roadwork.

Cunard Road will be closed from November 9 through March 25, with the closure beginning just past the Brooklyn Miners Trailhead parking lot and extending to River Access, Angler’s Access, and Brooklyn Campground.

Vehicles, bikes, and pedestrians will not be allowed past the closure point.

The Brooklyn Miners Trail and Kaymoor Trail will remain open, but visitors should watch for heavy equipment.

Glade Creek Road will also close for maintenance from November 10 through March 25, just past Grandview Sandbar Campground.

Grandview Sandbar will remain open for camping, but Glade Creek Campground and the Glade Creek trailhead will be closed during construction.

Officials ask visitors to plan ahead and use caution while winter roadwork is underway.
