Summersville, WV (WOAY)-New River Community and Technical College will offer two herbal classes this month at the Summersville campus.
The courses are open to the public and designed for anyone interested in learning more about the healing power of herbs.
The first class will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Herbal Medicine class focuses on introducing students to the many types of medicines that can be made from herbs and provides recipes for the easiest and most popular remedies.
This class costs $25, and the registration deadline is April 18.
The second class will take place on Wednesday, April 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Herbal Teas: Brewing a Healing Cup class explores the rich history of tea, how to brew the perfect cup, and the medicinal uses of herbal teas.
The class fee is $25, with an additional $2.50 due on the day of class to cover the cost of herbs.
Herbalist and educator Bette Angle of Grassy Creek Farm will instruct both courses.
As a master gardener, Angle has decades of herbal knowledge.
The registration deadline is April 25.
