New River CTC expands nursing program to Mercer County

Princeton, WV (WOAY)- In celebration of community college month, New River Community and Technical College (CTC) announces the expansion of its practical nursing program to Mercer County.  

A new cohort will kick off this fall in partnership with the Mercer County Technical Education Center.  

The college says the expansion is more than just a new program offering, but a powerful example of how community colleges serve as engines of opportunity, workforce development, and community care in southern West Virginia.  

The evening and weekend cohort will help address the growing shortage of licensed practical nurses statewide
