New owners revamp local sports bar

SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOAY) – A Summersville staple reopens with a new look and a fresh menu.

Matt Dodrill bought the sports bar Maloney’s after other offers to the previous owner fell through. After working in the restaurant industry for a while, Dodrill is excited to take on a new role as the co-owner of a restaurant and breathe new life into the old favorite.

“It’s developed a lot over the years,” said Dodrill. “Craft beer came around, so we’re trying to support local business. We’ve got some stuff from Freefall and the Greenbrier Valley. We actually brought back some old sandwiches that they had taken off the menu like the Couch Burner.”

Maloney’s is on Church Street and opens every day at 11 a.m.
