NICHOLAS COUNTY, WV (WOAY)- New details today about the $3.3 million in federal funding coming to Nicholas County to mitigate flood risks on State Route 39.
The money will reconstruct 1,350 feet of road, raising it by seven feet to lift the road out of flood zone of the Cherry River.
This is one of 80 projects nationwide that is receiving nearly 830 million dollars to help states and local communities strengthen roads against extreme weather while saving taxpayer money.
