Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – After dropping out of the news cycle for a year or so, the National Park Service’s plan to demolish historic structures in the town of Thurmond and other places within park boundaries in the gorge is accelerating.
Demolition could begin as soon as November.
However, the town council of Thurmond and an organization known as Preservation Thurmond have not given up the fight.
