Multiple arrests made in Mercer County drug bust yesterday

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – Eight people were arrested in Princeton yesterday in a major drug bust by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.

The arrests are the direct result of an investigation by Detective-Corporal M.T. Hatfield and other deputies that stretched over the course of a month.

The 8 arrests are as follows:

• Ronald “Nicky” Mills – Possession with intent to distribute, Possession of a controlled substance (x2), Theft of power
• Matthew Pigg – Magistrate court capias
• Donald McCall – Fugitive from justice (Russell County, VA), Grand Larceny, Conspiracy, Possession of a controlled substance
• Shawn Roberts – Fleeing on foot
• Briana King – Fleeing on foot
• Tammy Carter – Possession of a controlled substance
• Dawlton Blankenship – Possession of a controlled substance
• Joseph Hunt – Possession of a controlled substance
Seven other people are being questioned further.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s office says it shows how seriously it takes drug offenses.

“Let this serve as a warning to drug dealers and users—your door could be next,” Sheriff Alan Christian said. “The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office stands ready to take action against those who contribute to the spread of illegal drugs in our community.”

Sheriff Christian said he and Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney Brian Cochran will use West Virginia Code §61-9-1 to take houses and make people stop allowing drug activity on property they own.
