Mountaineers Win Second Straight Over Virginia

Morgantown, WV (video highlights courtesy WDTV) – West Virginia men’s basketball has now won eight straight on the season after defeating Virginia 68-61, their second straight win over the Cavaliers.

The Mountaineers scored the first seven points of the night, before Virginia rallied to make it 29-26 at halftime. It would remain a close contest for the rest of the game, with WVU pulling ahead for good in the final minutes.

Jevon Carter recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Lamont West and Daxter Miles, Jr. contributed 22 and 12 points, respectively. Devon Hall led Virginia with 19.

West Virginia heads on the road Saturday for an evening matchup with Pittsburgh.
