Mountain State Excellence, County Baby Soapery named West Virginia’s Best Handmade Product 2025

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – It’s a haven for handmade luxury soaps, artisanal treasures, dessert candles, and more.

Now Country Baby Soapery is celebrating being named the Mountain State’s Best Handmade Product by West Virginia Living Magazine 2025.

“We found out the first part of December we’d won the gold placement,” said Owner/Creator Jennifer Kiblinger. “We were so ecstatic to find out that we won.”

Country Baby Soapery is colorful and playful, all about originality, and they have fun naming their products.

“Our scents are fun, they’re different. We listen to our customers as well. If they say, ‘Hey, have you ever thought about making this?’ we’ll dive in and research it, test it, make it, and look for feedback to see if they like it,” Kiblinger said.

They were stunned to take the top prize against 100-year-old legacy brands like Blenko Glass and Fiestaware, after starting Country Baby Soapery creations in their kitchen back in 2017.

“To have folks coming in, people traveling, folks coming from all over to shop, and they hear about it, they’re excited for us, and they see that we won (is thrilling),” said the soapmaker.

The community has wholeheartedly embraced Country Baby Soapery, and the handmade bath, body, and home fragrance boutique is also about showing the community love.

“We’ve been doing fundraising with our local schools, forming all kinds of partnerships like that, really trying to do whatever we can to give back to the community, donations for the holiday season,” Kiblinger said, including giveaways, and hopes folks will continue to keep them in mind. “For things like that, so we can help give back to them as well.”

Amidst the warmth of the holiday season…

“The community has been so, so welcoming and so supportive because it’s the community that votes for this,” said the CBS owner/creator. “It means everything to us, really.”
