Mount Hope City Council meets to consider opioid epidemic

MOUNT HOPE, WV (WOAY) – The Mount Hope City Council held a special meeting this afternoon at 2 p.m.

The meeting was called for consideration of Mount Hope’s participation with filing a claim for damages caused by the opioid epidemic. The council feels that now is a good time to join the Class Action lawsuit to help recover from the crisis.

“The purpose of the meeting was to pass a resolution to bring the city of Mount Hope into this Class Action Lawsuit,” said Mount Hope Mayor Michael Kessinger. “We’re coming forth hoping with the opioid crisis that has drastically impacted the city and the state.”

The council is concerned with the safety of Mount Hope in dealing with the opioid crisis.
