Motorcycle crash kills one man in Mercer County

Motorcycle crash causing death

BLUEWELL, WV (WOAY) – One person is dead after a motorcycle crash that happened on Sunday evening in Mercer County.

According to State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 6 p.m. in Bluewell near the intersection of US Route 52 and County Route 71, Lorton Lick Road.

This accident was a single-vehicle motorcycle crash where the driver, Patrick Peavy, lost control struck a guardrail and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Mr. Peavy sustained fatal injuries.  No other people were involved or injured in this accident.  Mr. Peavy was wearing a helmet.

Corporal J. R. Tupper is the lead investigator in this case.
