Motorcycle accident kills one in Fayette County

Motorcycle crash causing death

LOOKOUT, WV (WOAY) – A motorcycle accident in Fayette County leaves one person dead.

According to Sheriff Mike Fridley, the notification was received by the Fayette County 911 Center of a motorcycle vs. car accident on US Route 60 in the Lookout area, at around 8:00 PM on June 29, 2020.

Responders found that a motorcycle had lost control and hit an oncoming vehicle, traveling west on route 60. The occupant of the motorcycle, William Wilson (56) of Meadow Bridge, died as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident. The occupants of the vehicle were transported to Summerville Memorial Hospital, treated and released with no injuries. Route 60 was closed for a period of time while Deputies conducted investigations, and Fire/EMS personnel performed their duties. The West Virginia State Police assisted with the reconstruction of the accident.
