Mothman Statue Legacy Store opening in Point Pleasant as Annual Mothman Festival kicks off on September 19-20

Point Pleasant, WV (WOAY) A new shop in Point Pleasant is celebrating the legacy of one of West Virginia’s most famous cryptids, just in time for this weekend’s Mothman Festival.

Kelly Roach Miller, daughter of the late artist Bob Roach, has opened the Mothman Statue Legacy at 326 Main Street.

Her father created the iconic 12-foot-tall stainless-steel Mothman statue in 2003.

The new store features authentic miniature replicas of the statue, along with T-shirts, hats, tote bags, hoodies, “Shiny hiney” mothman butt banks, and other merchandise.

Shoppers can also find Mothman-themed potato chips from Mister Bee, along with other local crafts and products.

Miller says her goal is to preserve her father’s artistic legacy by offering official replicas and merchandise featuring the original statue design.

The Mothman Festival is set for September 19 and 20 in Point Pleasant.
