Monroe County students succeed at Leadership Conference

Union, WV (WOAY) – Monroe County students tested their business skills against some of the best in West Virginia.

Peterstown Middle School students attended the Future Business Leaders of American State Leadership Conference at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, WV on March 12 and 13, 2025. Students were able to compete as well as network with their peers and attend inspirational workshops.

The theme for this year’s SLC was coal mining themed focusing on the influence WV coal has on the global market. The students from Peterstown Middle School finished on top.

Exploring Parliamentary Procedure Objective Test:
Maizy Boggess – 2nd Place
FBLA Mission & Pledge:
Jorja Stutts – 1st Place
Marketing Mix Challenge:
Maizy Boggess – 2nd Place
The four students from Peterstown Middle School will now have the opportunity to attend the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA this summer.
