Monroe County Schools announce graduation plans for seniors

MONROE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Monroe County Schools have announced its graduation plans for seniors.

A graduation plan was submitted to the West Virginia Department of Education and developed in conjunction with the Monroe County Health Department, 911, school nurse, administration, parents, and students.

The graduation ceremony is currently planned for July 10, 2020, with a rain date of July 11, 2020.  The ceremony will begin at 7 pm at the H.E. Comer Sports Complex.  This ceremony will be live-streamed on social media for family members to view, and a recording will be provided to each graduate.

The James Monroe Graduation ceremony will be held in a traditional manner with modifications to meet health guidelines.  All safety measures enacted by the Monroe County Health Department will be followed, as will social distancing and the number of guests per graduate requirements.
