Monroe County announces first COVID-related death

MONROE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Monroe County Health Department has confirmed their first COVID-related death was a 77-year-old male resident at Springfield Center.

The health department made the following announcement on Facebook on Monday:

“It is with great regret that we have to announce Monroe County’s first death related to COVID-19, a 77 year old male resident at Springfield Center. Our sincerest condolences to his family.”
