Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – A group of Midland Trail Middle School students met with the Division of Highways today, proposing a new overpass bridge over Route 19 near the New River Gorge National Park.
Students said that it would help deal with increased traffic and bring more attractions north of the bridge. It came out of a community meeting hosted by these students last year.
According to the school, students put the plan together after studying crash reports and an engineering study.
DOH Engineers went over the plan with students and said the biggest obstacle is securing funding.
