Princeton, WV (WOAY) – A Mercer County woman has been convicted after a two-day jury trial.
Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney Brian K. Cochran tells WOAY that on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, 36-year-old Virginia Amelia Nester from the Princeton area was convicted in a jury trial on 2 counts of felony incest. Nester was previously indicted on four felony counts of Incest by a Mercer County Grand Jury. The jury found Nester not guilty of the other two counts.
According to Cochran, the incestual relationship between Nester and her biological father Teddy Billings was “100% consensual and did not come to law enforcement’s attention until other family members discovered the relationship and confronted Nester. Nester initially falsely reported to the State Police that her father had raped her.”
“After her false report of rape to the State Police, the evidence obtained showed that this was clearly consensual, and Nester then changed her story after speaking with the State Police a second time”.
Billings previously pleaded guilty to incest charges.
Both Nester and Billings are required to register as sex offenders. Nester will be sentenced on May 15, 2025, at 11:00 am by Circuit Court Judge Mark Wills.
