Princeton, WV (WOAY) – Mercer County School Superintendent Ed Toman will stay at the helm for two more years.
The Board of education announced his contract would be extended for two more years, beginning July 1, 2025. The Board came to the decision during a meeting on February 24, 2025.
According to a press release from the Board, the decision was based on several factors, including the county’s financial stability, facility improvements, special education and federal programs and student achievement among other things.
Board President Greg Prudich says: The Board looks forward to working with Mr. Toman as we continue striving to make Mercer County Public Schools the best it can be for our students’ success.”
Toman has been in the position since the retirement of former superintendent Deborah Akers in 2021.
