Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney Brian Cochran has announced his candidacy for Circuit Court Judge in 2026.
He says he is running with the expressed permission of Judge William Sadler, who will retire at the end of 2025. Cochran was elected prosecuting attorney in 2020 and again in 2024.
He is touting his 34-year career that spans his time as a city police officer, deputy, state trooper, attorney, and prosecutor.
He has also applied for appointment to the position to fill the term until the 2026 election.
