Mercer County Office of Emergency Management shares severe weather resources available in the area

Princeton, WV (WOAY) The Mercer County Office of Emergency Management wants to keep residents safe by keeping them informed on available resources near them amid the severe weather and the threat of power outages.

An emergency evacuation center will open at the Princeton Rescue Squad at 704 Maple St, Princeton, at 6:00 pm.

Those who need shelter from the cold can visit the warming center at the Bluewell United  Methodist Church at 228 Warden Avenue, opening at 8:00 pm.

The Matoaka Fire Department operates a warming shelter at 205 First Avenue, which opens at 6:00 pm.

The Princeton Salvation Army and the Bluefield Union Mission are also on standby to help residents find shelter in local motels as rooms are available.
