Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – A Mercer County man is in jail accused of firing shots at his daughter’s husband.
According to a media release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, on Wednesday July 16, 2025, deputies were called to a domestic situation in the Wolfe area of Mercer County involving a father and daughter.
Mercer County Deputy J.A. brooks spoke with a female victim before interacting with the male suspect and detaining him. The suspect is identified as 64-year-old Henry Kiser. According to the media release, Kiser is the father of the victim.
The investigation revealed that Henry Kiser had allegedly hit and choked his daughter and shot at her husband during the fight.
No injuries occurred.
While the female victim was leaving with her children, Kiser allegedly drove his tractor from his property to where the female victim’s husbands’ truck was parked nearby striking it several times, turning it over and causing significant damage.
While executing a search warrant on Kiser’s property deputies discovered several marijuana plants. Due to this discovery deputies obtained a second search warrant, and the marijuana plants were collected as evidence.
Henry Kiser is charged with attempted murder, domestic battery, domestic assault, destruction of property, wanton endangerment, malicious assault, and manufacturing of a controlled substance.
He remains in Southern Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.
