Princeton, WV (WOAY) – A Mercer County mans has been arrested for an alleged paving scam.
On June 21, 2025, 53-year-old Robert Brian Whitlow of Princeton, WV was arrested on felony charges of obtaining money under false pretense and financial exploitation of an elderly person.
According to court documents, the victim paid Whitlow $11,525 in June of 2023 for paving work at her home on Glenwood Park Road. She received a receipt for the work but according to the criminal complaint, the work was never done.
The victim made calls to Whitlow which were not returned. She eventually had to hire another contractor to finish the work costing her $13,000.
Robert Brian Whitlow remains in the Southern Regional Jail under a $25,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 1 in Mercer County Magistrate Court.
