Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – A weekend domestic dispute in Mercer County leaves one man dead.
According to a media release, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, deputies from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic dispute in progress at a home on Ivy Street in the Glenwood area of Mercer County.
According to witnesses on scene, a fight had occurred between two men at the home. One of the men later, identified as 39-year-old Eric Halsey allegedly produced a glass ash tray and struck the victim in the head multiple times and then left the scene prior to Deputies arrival.
The victim involved in the fight was transported to WVU Medical/ Princeton Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Deputies were able to locate and arrest Eric Halsey without incident a short time later.
Halsey is currently being held in the Southern Regional Jail on murder charges under a $750,000 cash only.
