Mercer County Animal Shelter is now officially a no kill shelter

Princeton, WV (WOAY)- Mercer County Animal Shelter (MCAS) is celebrating a significant milestone, nearly a decade in the making!

MCAS has officially been nationally recognized as a No-Kill Shelter.

This prestigious honor didn’t come easily.

The facility has been working diligently to gather verified data that proves the shelter’s success in saving lives.

MCAS credits that success as a reflection of the public’s support because every time the shelter issues a Code Red, the community answers.

MCAS is dedicated to upholding this standard and continuing to protect every pet that enters its doors.

The shelter extends its gratitude to its rescue partners, hardworking volunteers, devoted foster families, the County Commission, generous sponsors, local businesses, news outlets, and its incredible staff for their support in achieving this accomplishment.

Mercer County Animal Shelter is at 961 Shelter Road in Princeton and is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6:00 p.m.
