Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – The Mercer County Animal Shelter is at a code red status, and they need your help.
They are currently housing around 100 pups, but more than half aren’t able to be adopted.
However, if you want to help, you can by viewing the available dogs on their Facebook page and giving them a forever home.
Dog adoptions are open to out-of-state residents as well.
However, Mercer County residents can help out by opening their homes to foster available dogs.
If you are looking for a new friend, now is the time, thanks to Bissell’s Empty the Shelters event.
Dogs are $25, and cats are $10, with free micro-chipping.
