Men sentenced for intent to distribute meth

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Three men have been sentenced to prison for drug dealing charges in Fayette County.

Christopher Carver, Demetran Gray, and Michael Grimmett were convicted on various charges related to the intent to distribute meth.

It stems from an arrest on January 21, 2023. A Fayetteville police officer pulled over a car that the three men were in.

Police found that Carver, who was driving, did not have a driver’s license.

Officers then found 43 grams of meth and other drug paraphernalia.

Carver and Gray were sentenced to 40 years in prison for conspiracy and one to fifteen years for possession with intent to distribute between five and fifty grams of meth. Those sentences will be served consecutively.

Both men had been previously been convicted for felonies, and the court did not find their testimony to be believable.

Grimmett does not have a lengthy criminal history, and he was sentenced to one year in prison for conspiracy and one to fifteen years in prison for intent to distribute meth.

Those sentences will be served at the same time, and he was referred to a substance abuse disorder treatment program.
