Athens, WV (WOAY) – Concord men’s basketball closed the first half of Mountain East play on Thursday when they welcomed UVa-Wise to Athens.
Mountain Lions senior guard Aaron Miller surpassed 1,500 career points in the first half, becoming the 11th Concord player to reach the milestone. He and Michael Sanchez each scored 14 points.
The game was a close contest in the first half, but the Highland Cavaliers got out to a quick start in the second half, going on to win 98-70. Taiwo Badmus was the leading scorer with 42 points.
The Mountain Lions visit West Virginia State on Saturday afternoon; Concord beat the Yellow Jackets earlier this season.
